Captain's Paddock is named after the our horse 'Captain Jack', affectionately known as 'Captain'. Captain was 38 years old when he passed away in October 2004. He roamed the vineyard at will, not a care in the world. The latest addition to the vineyard is 'Merlot', a red kelpie. She will greet you on arrival and try to go home with you on departure. Merlot is the first Queensland wine dog in the publication
Wine Dogs, you can purcase the book with Merlot's autograph and email address.

Your hosts Maryanne and Peter purchased the property in April 2002. Our "tree" change.

The vineyard and buildings were built by the McCallum family. Don and Judy have created a wonderful property dotted with many unusual but practicable objects built by their son Stuart.

The property consists of 10 acres of grape vines (13km) planted in 1995, a cafe and a cottage. The cottage is available for overnight stays.

Captain's Paddock is located 8km north of Kingaroy, Queensland in the South Burnett Region.
